Welcome to Grasslands Nursery! Minimize

Grasslands Nursery is all about Sustainable Gardening:

-        xeriscaping – landscaping in a manner that conserves water by following the seven basic principles of xeriscape gardening
-        incorporating native or indigenous species into your yard – what could be more sustainable than using plant material that was here long before we were?
-        growing your own vegetables and herbs – experiencing the satisfaction and comfort in harvesting fresh produce, herbs and small fruits.

At Grasslands Nursery all our efforts go into providing you, our valued customer, with products and services that focus on sustainable gardening. Here are some examples of what we do to earn our reputation of "Sustainable Gardening Experts":

  • highly knowledgeable, friendly staff to assist you with your gardening challenges
  • on-site gardens that demonstrate xeriscaping principles; how to use native species in your landscape; planting to attract pollinators and birds; and edible landscaping. Get ideas for your own garden as you appreciate the versatility, beauty and colour of ours.
  • exciting 'new' selections of plant material that supplement the 'tried and true' favourites
  • on-site lending library of dozens of books and articles about xeriscaping, native plants, ornamental and edible gardening, etc. (some titles are available for sale)
  • comprehensive consultation and design services
  • living samples of low-water, low-maintenance lawn seed blends, including buffalo grass, Enviroturf and the outstanding Eco-Lawn

We welcome you to browse our website, take a stroll through our on-site demonstration gardens, speak with our staff, or borrow from our lending library. At Grasslands Nursery, we've done the homework for you!
