Grasslands Nursery’s specialty lies in two related areas: xeriscape (colourful, waterwise landscape) and permascape.

Permascape goes beyond the principles of xeriscape; it incorporates edible plantings with ornamentals, and includes methods to keep rainfall in the landscape rather than directing it into storm sewer. Techniques to rebuild healthy soils without the use of synthetic fertilizers are also a key piece of permascape gardening.
