Permablitz

Gordon Hiebert of Element Eco-Design is presenting a two-day Permaculture Introduction course at Grasslands Nursery on May 21, 22.
Not only will you learn about permaculture ethics and principles, but you’ll have the chance to install a permaculture garden right on site!

The OXA Xeriscape Garden Contest 2011

The Xeriscape Garden Contest is designed to showcase the beauty of Xeriscape Landscapes and to recognise homeowners for demonstrating the versatility of Xeriscape Gardens. The main objective of the contest is to increase awareness of innovations in landscaping and water use efficiency.

The contest opens on May 15, 2011 and the deadline for submissions is August 31, 2011
Entries must include completed entry form, plant list and 3 – 10 digital photos. Visit the OXA website for complete details and for useful tools to use to design your entry.

ELIGIBILITY
The Contest is open to all residential homeowners within the Regional District of Central Okanagan (Lake Country to Peachland) who have either designed and installed xeriscape landscapes themselves or by professionals. Winners will be selected based on their understanding and demonstration of xeriscape principles.

CATEGORIES AND PRIZES

  • Best Homeowner-Installed Garden – Full Property
  • Best Homeowner-Installed Garden – Part of a Property
  • Best Professionally Designed and Installed Residential Garden – Full or Part Property
  • Wildcard draw of $500 cash – all entries are eligible for this draw. The prize goes to the homeowner.
